Southhampton Solent University – Spark Project

Project Overview

A new teaching and learning building aimed at encouraging creative, interactive and flexible ways of learning. Each teaching space is lecture capture enabled and replaces the traditional projector/whiteboard combo with a 75” touchscreen, so that lectures can be recorded and uploaded to the University’s virtual learning environment for future reference.
Energy sustainability was achieved by implementing an energy efficient strategy for the heat sources. Along with an Energy Dashboard as a feature and focus point for the Students to engage with the energy usage of the building and understand the impact of their environmental conditions.
In order to maximise student comfort and attention levels, accurate monitoring and control of CO2 levels were implemented in the lecture area.
